SAINT OF THE DAY St. Emily de Rodat was born in late-1700’s France to a wealthy family. One day, she overheard mothers talking about how they could not afford to send their daughters to school. Their conversation inspired her to eventually start her own order dedicated to education, the Religious Congregation of the Holy Family of Villefranche. The order expanded to also care for the elderly, prisoners, and orphans. At the time of her death, Emily’s sisters had started 38 charitable institutions. READ |
