Hunter Biden Drops Fox News Lawsuit After Dad Drops Out

Within hours of President Joe Biden ending his reelection bid, his son, Hunter Biden, dropped his lawsuit against Fox News.

In late June 2024, Hunter Biden filed a lawsuit against Fox News over a program titled “The Trial Of Hunter Biden,” which was aired on Fox’s streaming service, Fox Nation. Hunter Biden demanded damages in the lawsuit, arguing that the program — which was a six-part mockumentary series about a hypothetical trial against him — had caused him “severe emotional distress, humiliation, and mental anguish.”

The president’s son claimed in the suit that Fox Nation had “intentionally manipulate[d] the facts” and argued that the network had tried to “dehumanize” him.

The lawsuit was initially threatened in April of this year when Hunter Biden’s legal team demanded that Fox News take the series off its platforms. Despite the fact that the network caved to Hunter’s demands, his legal team followed through with its lawsuit.

Fox News responded to the lawsuit in a statement to the Daily Caller at the time, which read: “This entirely politically motivated lawsuit is devoid of merit. The core complaint stems from a 2022 streaming program that Mr. Biden did not complain about until sending a letter in late April 2024. The program was removed within days of the letter, in an abundance of caution, but Hunter Biden is a public figure who has been the subject of multiple investigations and is now a convicted felon. Consistent with the First Amendment, FOX News has accurately covered the newsworthy events of Mr. Biden’s own making, and we look forward to vindicating our rights in court.”

Hunter Biden also claimed in the lawsuit that he had suffered because Fox News unlawfully published nude photos of him, claiming that the images obtained from Hunter’s infamous abandoned laptop were “hacked, stolen and/or manipulated” — despite the fact that these images were essentially public domain at that point, as his laptop was lawfully obtained by the computer repair shop and subsequently abandoned by Hunter. Numerous law enforcement agencies and news outlets have long since confirmed the authenticity of the laptop, meaning that the claims made in Hunter’s lawsuit were clearly false.

Court documents obtained by the Daily Caller show that Hunter Biden dropped this lawsuit just a few hours after Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race on Sunday, leading many to speculate as to the timing of Hunter’s actions. His legal team reportedly submitted a notice of voluntary dismissal on Sunday to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The document has been shared numerous times on social media, with many questioning the motivation behind the sudden decision.
