White House Slams Judges For Continuing ‘Weaponization Of Justice’

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt slammed leftist judges for continuing “the weaponization of justice” by interfering with President Donald Trump’s executive actions.

During a press briefing on February 12, Leavitt fired back against the mainstream media’s false narrative that Trump has overstepped his authority and put the United States on the path toward a constitutional crisis. In reality, as the press secretary noted, it is the leftist judges who are overstepping and creating a constitutional crisis — as they are directly interfering with the president’s constitutionally-prescribed executive authority.

She slammed the media for pushing an “extremely dishonest narrative” and argued that they were clearly “fearmongering” on the issue.

“The real constitutional crisis is taking place within our judicial branch, where district court judges and liberal districts across the country are abusing their power to unilaterally block President Trump’s basic executive authority,” Leavitt explained, referencing the judicial injunctions on several of Trump’s orders, including the spending freeze and birthright citizenship.

When asked by Daily Wire White House correspondent Mary Margaret Olohan whether the White House believed that these judges had the authority to issue these nationwide injunctions, Leavitt stated that the Trump administration believes that the injunctions “have no basis in the law and have no grounds.”

“We will again, as the president said very clearly yesterday, comply with these orders, but it is the administration’s position that we will ultimately be vindicated, and the president’s executive actions that he took were completely within the law, they were constitutional, and we look forward to the day where he can continue to implement his agenda,” she added.

“I would just add that it’s our view that this is the continuation of the weaponization of justice that we have seen against President Trump,” Leavitt continued. “He fought it for two years on the campaign trail — it won’t stop him now.”

Trump also discussed the injunctions during a signing event in the Oval Office on February 11, telling reporters that these partisan judges are just trying to stop his efforts to eliminate government corruption.

“We want to weed out the corruption, and it seems hard to believe that a judge could say, ‘we don’t want you to do that.’ So maybe we have to look at the judges, because that’s very serious. I think it’s a very serious violation,” Trump said.
