DEVELOPING: This Petition to Try Obama For Treason Is Exploding… Here Are the Charges
According to Article III of the U.S. Constitution, treason “against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”
A petition on the White House’s “We the People” website accuses President Barack Obama of just that and as of Wednesday had garnered over 16,000 signatures in only nine days.
Adhering to its enemies? The petition makes clear that Obama aided in the ouster of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi without consulting Congress.
According to the petitioners, this gave war-making authority to “foreign powers and international authorities,” leading to Libya falling into chaos and becoming a terrorist stronghold.
Mexican drug cartels are another enemy of America. Their ascendency, in addition to the illegal immigration crisis, has led to near-anarchy at our borders.
As the petitioners point out, “refusing to secure our broken borders from illegal alien invasion, international criminal incursion, and terrorist cadre penetration, (is) in violation of U.S. Constitution, Article III, Section 3 and Article IV, Section 4.”
What about giving aid to our enemies? Ever since the student-led revolution that brought the Aytollah Khomeini to power in 1979, Iran has been one of our most dangerous adversaries. That hasn’t changed a bit in the intervening years, as the pariah state has embarked on an illegal nuclear weapons program.
Yet, as early as 2008 Obama sent Ambassador William G. Miller as an emissary to Tehran, letting the Ayatollahs know that things would be much different under the Obama administration and undercutting then-President George W. Bush (H/T Examiner).
And as of now, the president is negotiating in secret with the Iranians, promising the Islamist regime over $20 billion in aid if they’ll just promise not to make a nuclear weapon.
