Are you ready for some good news?
It’s not often we see the lost sheep return…
Last week news broke that SSM Health – a Catholic healthcare network and one of the largest in the state of Wisconsin – put a definitive stop to genital mutilation surgeries at a clinic in its system.
Now, I probably had the same first reaction as you: Why were “trans” surgeries happening in a Catholic system in the first place?!
That question is more than fair… but we shouldn’t let it blind us to the even more important takeaway:
THE TIDE IS TURNING.
Here’s the key to the story: the organization told reporters that it was pressure from the Catholic Church that led to the decision.
That’s right: Catholic leaders were made aware that these procedures were happening at a Catholic facility … and they spoke up.
Why am I telling you this story?
Because holding our institutions accountable to the faith is what CatholicVote’s Catholic Accountability Project is all about…
…and this is a clear case of accountability really paying off.
Through the Catholic Accountability Project, we regularly publish thorough exposés, such as our report on Fr. James Martin’s radical, pro-“trans” organization “Outreach,” which is working to infiltrate and corrupt Catholic schools and parishes.
We held the fake “Catholic” organization “Catholics for Choice” accountable too, revealing complaints of mistreatment by female employees … and the fact that the organization gets a huge chunk of its funding from pro-abortion mega donor Warren Buffett.
We also have extensive exposés on Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden – both of whom support abortion in all nine months and gender mutilation of children – all while claiming to be “devout” Catholics.
And between these bigger projects, our Catholic Accountability Project publishes a monthly list of “Heroes and Zeroes,” where we note Catholic leaders and institutions who either heroically stood up for our faith or turned around and betrayed it.
And there’s plenty more to come!
We have politicians who capitalize on the “Catholic” name while promoting abortion, sexual depravity, and worse. And then there are healthcare systems – like SSM Health – not to mention hospitals, charities, media organizations, and universities that call themselves “Catholic” but side again and again with the enemies of the Church.
Faithful Catholics have a duty to hold these public leaders and institutions accountable. In fact, millions of American Catholics have been clamoring for decades for someone to do something. The integrity of our Church – and all that we profess to believe – is at stake.
That’s the driving force behind our Catholic Accountability Project. We knew it was time for someone to step up.
And stories like this Catholic hospital in Wisconsin prove that speaking up can make a difference.
We can reclaim our institutions for Christ and His Church. The tide can turn.
