Mom Fired From Her Job After Speaking At School Over Gender Identity Curriculum
(RepublicanReport.org) – A California mom reportedly lost her job following a disagreement over gender identity issues being taught in schools. The company she contracted with gave her the boot just 11 days after she addressed her issue with the progressive curriculum at a school board meeting, prompting outrage from LGBTQ+ activists.
Janet Roberson attended Benicia Unified School District’s April 20 meeting to discuss her concerns over children as young as 10 years old being taught to identify their pronouns. She explained that she had three children attending classes in the district — one in elementary school, one in middle school, and one attending high school. The worried mother explained that her time had gotten cut short during the board’s previous meeting, when she had attempted to address its recently approved sexual education curriculum.
Roberson told the board that she wasn’t okay with the material young children were learning in regard to gender, which she insisted was beyond the state’s scope and created unnecessary complications to an already difficult learning environment. She pointed to gender identity being a discussion point in math classes, which she said used up time that might otherwise go to teaching the actual core material.Robertson chastised educators for teaching children “that you can believe anything you want to believe,” despite no scientific backing or proof that transgender people were correct when they insisted they were assigned the “wrong” biological sex. She raised concerns over young students learning about puberty blockers, calling the intervention “unacceptable” and “evil,” and expressed fears that kids were only becoming more confused than ever as a result of the course material.
Progressives like local resident William Innes immediately slammed Robertson’s views. The left-wing activist submitted a letter to the editor of the Times-Herald, calling the mother of three “small-minded” and “hateful.” Despite the negative attention she’s received, Roberson has remained steadfast in her message, telling The Daily Wire she “would do it again” because she believes in speaking the truth.
