Sound of Freedom’s studio made one big announcement that left the media frantic
Conservative audiences have turned Sound of Freedom into the surprise hit of the summer.
The movie’s remarkable success has made it a target of the media.
But Sound of Freedom’s studio made one big announcement that left the media frantic. Sound of Freedom came out of nowhere to become one of the biggest movies of the year.
The movie was shelved for years after it was shot in 2018 with Fox and Disney both refusing to release it before it was eventually purchased by faith-based Angel Studios.
After raking in more than $150 million at the domestic box office, the movie and its powerful message are now going global.
“You ask, we answer,” Angel Studios wrote. “Sound of Freedom’ is on its way around the world.” The movie had previously only been available in the US and Canada.
Sound of Freedom will be released in over 20 countries around the world over the next two months after it took the box office by storm in the US.
The first country it will be released in outside of North America will be South Africa on August 18, followed by Australia and New Zealand on August 24.
It will be released in Colombia, where much of the movie takes place, along with a slew of Latin American countries on August 31 before it debuts in European countries starting in September.
Angel Studios said that it was working on adding more countries for the movie to be released. “Since Sound of Freedom launched in the US, demand has been building around the world in dozens of regions and languages,” said Jared Geesey, senior vice president of global distribution for Angel Studios. “Child trafficking is a global issue, and we hope to build on the incredible momentum here in the States and share the film’s powerful message worldwide.”
The movie is building off of its incredible success domestically to reach audiences around the globe.
Former President Donald Trump recently hosted a screening of the movie and hailed it as “incredible.”
Sound of Freedom’s massive success has come in the face of a relentless smear campaign from the media.
Mainstream critics and media outlets have dismissed the movie by falsely labeling it as a QAnon conspiracy theory to discredit it. Rolling Stone’s movie critic smeared it as a “QAnon-tinged thriller” that is “designed to appeal to the conscience of a conspiracy-addled boomer.”
The movie’s star Jim Caviezel said the media was terrified of the film’s connection with audiences and success.
“They’re scared. Quaking in their boots,” Caviezel said. “And it’s because the public are listening to their hearts, which is what this film tells you to do.”
The movie is defying its media critics to become one of the most unlikely blockbusters in recent memory.
A widespread international release could turn Sound of Freedom into a global phenomenon.
