Hamas' cruel psychological warfare this week regarding the next stages of the hostage deal only further underscored the group’s inherent evil. Following the release of three emaciated Israeli hostages last Saturday, CAM called for immediate international legal action, not only against the terrorist organization, but also all countries that have assisted Hamas and provided sanctuary to its leaders.
The Kansas House Committee on Education held a hearing on Tuesday on the CAM-supported bill HB 2299, which aims to address and prohibit antisemitic discrimination in the state’s public K-12 schools and institutions of higher education, based on the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism and its 11 contemporary examples.
A recently uncovered Craigslist post offered money to people to join a planned anti-Israel demonstration in New York City. Such protests regularly feature violent antisemitic incitement - and the funding behind them should concern all Americans who oppose hate.
In this week's Global Antisemitism Report, the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM recorded 23 incidents in Western Europe, 15 of which, or just more than 65%, occurred in the United Kingdom. In a particularly egregious incident, a man wearing a kippah was assaulted last week in downtown Manchester, which local police were investigating as a hate crime.
In each of the past four weeks, the ARC has recorded more incidents in the UK than in any other individual Western European country, indicating a concerning trend. Law enforcement and political leaders must vigilantly ensure that the Jewish community in the UK is safe amid rising hate.
