Kanye Ditches Politics, Says “I’ve Been Used To Spread Messages I Don’t Believe In”

Rapper Kanye West shared a message on social media saying he’s stepping back from politics to focus on being creative. He also claimed to have been used to push messages that he says he does not believe in.
It seems as though West might have a slight issue with something that conservative Candace Owens may have done in regards to the “Blexit” movement in which African-Americans are moving away from the Democratic Party.
In a string of tweets, West vaguely explained his reasoning.
West’s first message states that he feels used and he’s leaving politics for a bit. He doesn’t like that he was used to spread messages that he doesn’t believe in. He wants separation from politics and he goes further into it later.
“My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative!!!” he wrote.
West continues his statement, showing support for job creations, prison reform, and gun laws that actually make sense and keep people safe at the same time.
“I support creating jobs and opportunities for people who need them the most, I support prison reform, I support common-sense gun laws that will make our world safer,” West wrote.
West shows support for people who are first responders, particularly police, and he agrees that we should hold people accountable when they abuse their power. Again, that’s something that most people would agree with.
It seems as though he might be hinting at supporting refugees seeking asylum, but that does not mean he supports a large caravan of thousands of people migrating from Honduras.
He might be referring to people fleeing violence in Mexico, but not by the thousands.
“I support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable. I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war.”
“I would like to thank my family, loved ones, and community for supporting my ACTUAL beliefs and my vision for a better world,” West wrote.
This is where it gets heated, and is most likely why West feels used.
He’s talking about Candace Owens, a conservative pundit and voice of Turning Point USA. He appears to be suggesting that she was not fully honest in something that she was quoted on, which she later backtracked and clarified. This is in reference to the “Blexit” concept of blacks exiting the Democratic Party.
Chicago Tribune stated:
“Perhaps the tipping point came this weekend. That’s when the “Blexit” merchandise was unveiled during Turning Point USA’s Young Black Leadership Summit.
“Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West,” said Owens, an activist in the pro-Trump Internet, according to Page Six.”
West denied creating the designs. He stated that his only role was introducing Owens to a designer. He also stated that he wants no association with Blexit, nor does he have anything to do with it.
This makes sense because West has constantly told people to think for themselves.
“I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.”
Many thought West’s anger was aimed at President Trump, but there’s no indication of that.
It has to do with West not happy with what Owens apparently said and tied him to. Is Kanye overreacting? Perhaps, but also perhaps not.
West is a strong voice, and so is Owens, so it makes sense for them to talk things over and move on together, in unity.
