Twice failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was asked what’s the difference between allegations of sexual misconduct against her husband, Bill Clinton, and President Donald Trump and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Her response was absolutely mind-blowing.
Speaking with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Tuesday, Clinton said that while all three men have been accused of sexual misconduct, the situations are “different” because the allegations against her husband have been “investigated.”
When asked by Amanpour if she’s prepared to answer questions about the allegations against her husband, Clinton claimed partisan politics were to blame for Bill Clinton’s infidelity.
“There’s a very significant difference. And that is the intense, long-lasting partisan investigation that was conducted in the 1990s. If, you know, the Republicans, starting with President Trump on down, want a comparison, they should welcome such an investigation themselves.”“Bill had to be incredibly strong, first to be elected, then to be reelected, and to survive. He really believes Democrats have to be tougher and have to stand up to the bullying and intimidation.”
Watch below:
It’s amazing to see a woman who claims to be a champion for women only actually defend women when they aren’t accusing her husband of sexual misconduct.
But more importantly, Clinton’s comments are completely detached from the facts.
For starters, Trump has never been charged with a single crime related to sexual assault or misconduct. Secondly, Kavanaugh just went through a month-long investigation during his grueling confirmation process before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Lawmakers and congressional investigators were unable to find any evidence that he was sexually inappropriate toward three women roughly four decades ago. The FBI also conducted a seventh background investigation on Kavanaugh, and the bureau released a report stating that there’s no corroboration to the accusations.
However, the allegations involving Bill Clinton are much different.
Clinton was impeached in the House of Representatives for perjury and obstruction of justice in the case involving his admitted affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. Bill Clinton admitted to having a sexual relationship with an intern in the White House.
During Special Prosecutor Kenneth Starr’s investigation into fraud allegations against the Clintons — they were accused of running businesses in Arkansas in order to launder money — it was also revealed that several other women had accused the former president of sexually assaulting them.
In one case, the former president settled in the case with Paul Jones, paying her just shy of $1 million after she accused him of sexually assaulting her when they worked together in Arkansas.
Juanita Broaddrick, who testified in the Starr investigation, maintains to this day that Clinton raped her at an Arkansas motel in 1978. Kathleen Willey, who also testified, has accused Clinton of sexually assaulting her in 1993.
The key difference is that Trump and Kavanaugh have denied the allegations against them, and Clinton literally admitted guilt and was impeached by the House of Representatives for lying and obstructing justice regarding his affair with Lewinsky. And several other women maintain Clinton assaulted them.
Hillary’s comments are mind-blowing, and show how completely detached from reality she truly is.
