Someone Leaked Christine Ford’s Letter To Media; Tom Cotton Reveals Info About Who He Thinks Did It

4
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Arkansas, revealed on Tuesday that he recently uncovered new information about who might have leaked Christine Blasey Ford’s letter to the media, and he has idea of who likely did it.
During a radio interview with Hugh Hewitt, Cotton said he believes Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was involved in the operation to leak Ford’s letter to the media.
“I believe the Schumer political operation was behind this from the very beginning. We learned last week that a woman named Monica McLean was Ms. Ford’s roommate and she was one of the so-called ‘beach friends’ that encouraged Ms. Ford to go to Sen. Dianne Feinstein and the partisan Democrats on the judiciary committee.”
“It just so happens that Monica McLean worked for Preet Bharara, the former U.S. attorney in Manhattan, now a virulent anti-Trump critic on television and former counsel to Chuck Schumer.”
Monica McLean, a former FBI agent, is Ford’s best friend. A former boyfriend of Ford submitted a letter to Congress, under penalty of perjury, saying Ford coached McLean in the 1990s on passing background checks. The former boyfriend also suggested that Ford was not credible at all.
Cotton is suggesting that McLean worked with Bharara for years. Bharara was fired by President Donald Trump last year, so Cotton argues McLean, Bharara, and either Schumer or his allies conspired to leak the letter.
In September, Ford sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Democrat Diane Feinstein, which detailed allegations that newly appointed Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her nearly four decades ago at a high school party. Kavanaugh maintains he never sexually assaulted anyone.
Feinstein claims she didn’t reveal the letter to anyone, but it was mysteriously leaked just days before a crucial Committee vote to confirm Kavanaugh.
Cotton argued that the letter was leaked either by Schumer or by someone connected to him to thwart Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing.
The letter being released to the media resulted in the both Ford and Kavanaugh testifying about the allegations, and a week-long delay so that the FBI could conduct a seventh supplemental background check into Kavanaugh and the allegations.
The Arkansas Republican went on to say he truly believes Schumer was involved in leaking the letter.
“I strongly suspect that Chuck Schumer’s political operation knew about Ms. Ford’s allegations as far back as July and manipulated the process all along to include taking advantage of Ms. Ford’s confidences and directing her towards left-wing lawyers who apparently may have violated the D.C. code of legal ethics and perhaps may face their own investigation by the D.C. Bar.”
Whomever leaked the letter could be facing serious legal trouble, and could face jail time. Leaking confidential information from Congress is a felony, which may explain why Democrats have refused to answer questions from the media about it.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has called for an investigation into Feinstein’s office to see who leaked Ford’s letter and allegations to the media. Graham has been demanding an investigation for weeks, and said the person who “betrayed Dr. Ford’s trust” should be held responsible.
Democrats refusal to answer if anyone in their party leaked the letter to the media speaks volumes, and shows many people how dirty the Left was playing to harm Kavanaugh.
Whether it was Schumer or not, the move backfired.
Democrats, who were the only ones in possession of the letter before it was leaked, betrayed Ford’s request to remain anonymous and weaponized her accusations to harm Kavanaugh.
Despite all of the tactics, smears, insults, and tricks to block his nomination, Kavanaugh survived and has been sworn-in as a Supreme Court Justice.
