MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace revealed on Thursday that she previously told former Florida Governor Jeb Bush to physically assault then-candidate Donald Trump after one of the debates during the 2016 presidential election.
During a segment on MSNBC, Wallace bragged about telling Bush after the debate that he should have punched Trump in the face, and that he would have been “a hero” if he did it.
Wallace made the comment in response to Michael Steele, a notable Never-Trumper who was discussing the numerous feud’s between Bush and Trump during the 2016 presidential election.
Here’s Steele’s comment.
“That’s the advantage that Trump has because there are no consequences and the consequence is not necessarily something bad happening, it is calling out the crazy. It is calling out the lie of the moment. It is saying right there, if any of those other — let me tell you, that Jeb Bush moment on that stage, if any of the Republican on that stage backed Jeb Bush up when he went after Trump and called him out, it would be a very different, —”Steele said before Wallace cut him off.
“I told Jeb Bush after the debate that I thought he should have punched him in the face,” Wallace said, referring to Bush. “Even if you lost, he insulted your wife, he came down the escalator and called Mexicans rapists and murderers.”
“He said, ‘What do you think I should have done?'” Wallace continued. “I said, ‘I think you should have punched him in the face and then gotten out of the race. You would have been a hero.'”
“Ted Cruz had his father accused of killing Jack Kennedy and he’s using him in the race. He’s bringing him down. All he did was call dad an assassin, and — but I need his help,” network host Chris Matthews added.

Wallace bragging on Thursday about encouraging violence against Trump is hardly the first time she has made controversial comments about Trump and members of his administration.
In June, Wallace smeared First Daughter Ivanka Trump and First Lady Melania Trump by saying they are “paid off” and “dead inside” because she claims that don’t “stand up” to  Trump.
A few weeks before that, the MSNBC host compared White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to a terrorist and asked her guests if they have ever wanted to choke Sanders.
“How do you resist the temptation to run up and wring her neck? Why can’t she just say if a staffer said that, we’re going to get to the bottom of it and she’ll be fired?” Wallace asked.

Later in segment, Wallace compared Sanders to Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, a terrorist who served in Saddam Hussein’s army in Iraq.
When discussing the prospect of having to speak with Sanders everyday at the press briefing, NBC’s John Heilemann said: “I’d slit my throat.”

In the past few months, Wallace called women in the Trump family “dead inside” and “paid off”; she implied Sanders should be choked and compared her to a terrorist; and now she is bragging about previously telling Bush that he should have punched Trump in the face.
