Brexit leader Nigel Farage feels that Russian President Vladimir Putin behaved more stately than President Obama both pre- and post-Brexit vote.
Speaking on Fox News, Farage lamented that Obama behaved "disgracefully" during his visit to the U.K. when he threatened Britain into believing they'd lose their status as a world power.
"Obama came to Britain, and I think behaved disgracefully," said Farage. "Telling us we would be at the back of the queue...Treating us, America's strongest, oldest ally, in this extraordinary way. Vladimir Putin maintained his silence throughout the whole campaign."
Shortly after Britain voted to divorce from the European Union, Putin said, "I think it is understandable why this happened. No one likes to feed and subsidize weaker countries and be a caretaker all the time."
Obama and Vice President Biden said Brexit occurred because of "demagogues peddling xenophobia."
Such a nice way to treat an ally.
Farage also denied that economics played the key factor in the vote, saying it hinged on sovereignty, which had been repeatedly violated due to the E.U. open border policy. UK's population was rising by half a million people every year, according to Farage.
"It was decided by a basic argument of sovereignty," he said. "Should we make our own laws in our own country, and crucially, should we control our own borders?"
"People said, 'enough. We want to govern our own country. We want to make our own laws. We want our own Supreme Court to be supreme and we want to control our borders.' And that now is what must happen."
Following the Brexit vote, Farage stated he hoped the dissolution of the E.U. would create "a Europe of sovereign nation-states being friends together, not a false political union."
