carl,
Surrounded by terrorist attacks in
nearby Yemen and neighboring Somalia, the American men and women stationed in
Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, can’t go down the street to an internet cafĂ© to email
family or friends or eat anywhere but the chow hall.
Conditions on the
base in Djibouti are so difficult and so dangerous, service members stationed
there refer to it as J-Bad.
We need to give them better. Right now the
USO operates out of two small tents, but the more than 4,000 brave heroes
serving there deserve more. We’re adapting to meet our service members’ growing
needs in the region with a permanent building, where we can create a comfortable
space for them to cool off from Djibouti’s scorching heat and call loved ones at
home.
But to create that space we need to raise $100,000 before June
30 to fund the first phase of construction and renovations at this and other
critical facilities. Will you donate $10 or
more today?

USO centers. Our military is settling in Djibouti for the
long haul, so we need to be there with them. With insurgents on their doorstep,
our service members are leading the charge in the fight against terrorism. We
owe it to them to do whatever we can to lighten their load.
With a new,
permanent building, we’ll be able to give our service members more of what they
need most, from phone calls with family to warm meals. But the USO is not a
government agency. We rely on generous Americans like you to respond to our
military’s needs and help make being deployed more comfortable for the men and
women stationed in Djibouti.

members?Click here to donate $10

in Djibouti.Thank you,
