Dear Carl,
Most Americans are still in shock that something
like the Orlando Shooting could happen in our country. Let's allow this shock to
drive us to action.
You may have seen our email last month, urging
Christians to remember that attacks like these occur frequently in other
countries. Hundreds of Nigerian Christians have been murdered, with thousands of
others displaced this year alone. And last year, more than 7,000 Christians were
martyred for their faith worldwide.
As you reflect and pray for the
events unfolding in our own country, we ask that you remember and consider
giving to Open Doors to help persecuted Christians in other countries around
the world. Now, when we feel the effects of attacks like these, is the time to
stand in solidarity with them—providing them with vital resources like food
kits, safe houses and sustainability programs that equip them to survive and
carry on in the faith.
Thank you for your commitment to our persecuted
brothers and sisters in Christ, even as the situation in Orlando weighs heavily
on your heart.
