Newspaper Rejects Ad Over The Word “Christian”, Says Its Offensive

According to reports, a Christian bookstore in Knoxville, Tennessee had their advertisement rejected by the News Sentinel due to the advertisement containing ‘Christian’, an offensive word the newspaper claimed.
The advertisement read: “Store closing sale – Cedar Springs Christian Store – Clinton Highway location – All merchandise, fixtures, slat walls must go. Sale through August 13,” according to Fox News.
The owner of the Cedar Springs Christian Store Lois McGinnis, claimed the newspaper told her, ” our ad did not run because it contained an offensive word.” She added, “I asked what that offensive word was and she said the offensive word was ‘Christian.”
“We had no way of knowing they considered the word ‘Christian’ offensive until we tried to place this ad,” she said as reported by Fox News.
Mrs. Lois then continued, “As Christians, this was a slap in the face to us.”
