Megyn Kelly: Why Do Trump Surrogates Keep Trying to ‘Tweak the Issue’ on Border Wall?
Megyn Kelly tonight noted with slight amusement how Donald Trump‘s own surrogates seem to be referring to the planned border wall with terms like “digital” and “virtual.”
Rudy Giuliani today said it would be a real wall with digital aspects, though as Kelly noted, this is coming at a time when people are starting to notice a potential pivot from Trump on the immigration issue.
Trump surrogate Mike Huckabee said that sometimes surrogates go out and “forget that they’re not the candidate.”
Kelly asked why people around Trump would want to “tweak the issue” amid the criticism that he’s “softening” on his signature issue.
Huckabee said that while it may be unhelpful for surrogates to “undermine” Trump, no matter what happens the voters will have a clear choice on immigration.
