Obama: It's time for Republican leaders to denounce Trump
President Obama on Tuesday called out Republican leaders for their continued support of Donald Trump.
"Yes, I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president," Obama said. "I said so last week, and he keeps on proving it."
"This is not just my opinion," Obama continued.
Obama pointed to the "repeated denunciations" of Trump's statements by top Republicans including Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
"The question, I think, they have to ask themselves is, if they are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?" Obama asked.
"What does this say about your party that this is your standard-bearer?"
