University education has become the stuff of satire... or more accurately, the kind of drivel one might hear emanating from a padded cell at Bellevue.
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is back in the news again, this time with its new online guide for how to address people by their preferred gender/non-gender pronoun. To note, the guide was published by the State run school's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resource Center.
The Daily Caller reports:
The guide offers a complex slew of pronouns including “zie,” “zim,” “faerself,” “verself,” “terself” and “xemself.”[...] “It is a privilege to not have to worry about which pronoun someone is going to use for you based on how they perceive your gender,” the UW-Milwaukee pronoun guide warns. “If you have this privilege, yet fail to respect someone else’s gender identity, it is not only disrespectful and hurtful, but also oppressive.”The UW-Milwaukee Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Resource Center employs two full-time, taxpayer-funded staffers. They are Jeanette MartÃn, “a first generation Chicana” who believes passionately in social justice, and Jennifer Murray, who uses “the framework and lens of her lived experience with the Social Justice Training Institute.”
Below are screenshots of the guide's rather complex array of pronouns, along with a worksheet to test out your progressive, political corectness-skills:
