In this prophecy revealed to Jeremiah, the Lord speaks about bringing
"healing and cure" to the
city of Jerusalem, which, though its people have sinned and blasphemed, is still
worthy to merit the love and forgiveness of the Lord. Though this chapter
contains many admonishments and punishments against the Children of Israel for
disobeying the Lord, it also contains a promise that the city will be filled
with joy and honor, and a renewal of the covenant between God and Israel. The
message of the verse is that no matter what, God will always raise up the people
of Israel and the city of Jerusalem, His holy place. Through our current
struggles, a stronger bond with the Almighty will be forged, and the people and
the land will be healed. The Therapy Center of Gush Shiloh, located in the
ancient region of Samaria, attempts to bridge the gap between the sometimes
harsh realities of the land and the underlying truth of God's love for it by
healing the young victims of ideological terror.
