Fireman Sam is a children's television show that plays on UK's Channel 5. In one of its episodes, Troubled Waters, a character named Elvis walks into the firehouse carrying a tray of tea. Suddenly, he trips on a piece of paper on the floor and drops to the ground. It happens so fast, the paper's hardly recognizable. But if it's paused at just the right moment, as some Muslims apparently did, a page from the Koran comes into view.

Middle East Eye (MEE) reports that the episode has been pulled from airing and an apology by the show's producers was sent out:
A communications officer for the Milkshake programme on which Fireman Sam is presented told MEE that the episode had been removed and that there were no plans to air it until the allegations were investigated by HIT Entertainment, which along with Hibbert Ralph Animation produces the new version of the British children's classic.
MEE also contacted HIT Entertainment for a response to the controversy. In a statement, Mattel (which owns HIT Entertainment) said they apologised "unreservedly" to their viewers for the incident.
“It has been bought to our attention that in an episode of Fireman Sam (Series 9, Episode 7), an image of the Quran is briefly depicted," said the statement.
"The page was intended to show illegible text and we deeply regret this error. We sincerely apologise for any distress or offence it may have caused. We will no longer be working with the animation studio responsible for this mistake.
"In addition, we are taking immediate action to remove this episode from circulation and we are reviewing our content production procedures to ensure this never happens again."
This episode has been in rotation since it first aired in October 2014 with no outrage mentioned until now.
MEE also notes that the creator of Fireman Sam, David Jones, was once held by airport security for a comment he made about a veiled woman in line.
"I wonder what would happen if I covered my face with my scarf," he recalled saying at a check point. "It was a quip. And I expected the guy to say: 'Yeah, I know what you mean mate' but when I got to the end and was putting all my stuff back on, I was bagged by a security guard."
There was an exchange in the comments section of the MEE story that is worth noting. Mohammed Shafiq writes: "They deliberately do this because they want to play with and arose the sentiments of the Muslim people. After arousing the sentiments of Muslims they say we didn't know it was a passage from the quran we apologies unreservedly. They do this because this is a part of British governments policy. By doing this they fight a psychological war against the Muslims. Muslims have NEVER behaved in an insulting way towards the Bible."
Jacob Cheval took issue with that last statement and reminded Shafiq of some current events he may not be aware of:
Indeed, why in France just yesterday as two Muslims where sawing through the neck of a priest, they were extra careful not to spill a drop of blood on the bible he had been reading from.
