On December 17, 2001, David Rubin and his then 3-year-old son Ruby were
driving home from Jerusalem when a hail of terrorists’ bullets struck their car,
seriously injuring them both. Surviving by sheer miracle, David felt an
obligation to help others. "Terrorists had intended it for evil, but God turned
it around for good," he says. Just as in today's verse when King David
recognizes and thanks the Almighty for saving him many times, David Rubin went
on to start Shiloh Israel Children's Fund to ease the trauma of terrorism in
children, as his way of thanking God for saving him and his young son from the
evil of terror.
