Girls Gather to Support Girls around the World |
From
July 13-15, the United Nations Foundation's Girl Up campaign brought together
more than 225 young female leaders from around the U.S. and the world for the
annual Girl Up Leadership Summit, which included special speaker First Lady
Michelle Obama. Through the summit, held in Washington, D.C., girls learned
skills to make their voices heard and then took their message to members of
Congress -- all to help support the empowerment of girls in developing
countries.
